APMP

The APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) SA’s aim is to promote, and advance, the proposal management profession in this country. In the pipeline for 2012 to assist it achieve this aim are seminars, the annual conference and a full day’s Foundation Level Accreditation coaching and exam.

APMP SA is also affiliated to APMP International and has adopted their Professional Accreditation Program, the world’s first for those working in a bid and proposal environment.

This Program uses a process of examination and competency-based assessment, which is consistent and measured against world best practice standards. There are three levels of accreditation – Foundation; Practitioner and Professional. Each level is tested in a different way and each requires a minimum level of experience.

The new committee intends to increase the Foundation level of accredited members to 40 by the end of 2012. Currently there are over 1 700 APMP members with that accreditation – only 1% of which are in South Africa.

Neil Philipson is the current chairperson of APMP SA.
