Miss South Africa opens ED Expo at Smart Procurement World 2016

Delegates, SMMEs and visitors were in for a surprise when the current Miss South Africa Ntandoyenkosi Kunene cut the ribbon and formally opened the ED Expo at the end of the conference’s first day.

The second session of the second day at the conference saw a panel discussion about practical ways that you can show to tangible value to the business from a procurement perspective.

The panel featured Fikile Khumalo – Director Material Governance, Risk and Compliance, Masego Khutsoane, Head: Procurement Division, Johannesburg Stock Exchange, Vanitha Govendor, Vice President: Government Solutions and Services for South Africa, MasterCard,Tshipi Alexander, Head: Corporate Issuing Sales and Services, Nedbank Corporate Card Marcelle Ross, Chief Sales Officer, TraveILinck.

Lerato Sithole, Director: Integrated Operations Delivery, Deloitte, Business-Process-as-a-Service discussed the truth about outsourcing.

Speaking to SmartProcurement, delighted SMME exhibitors described their conference and expo experience.

“I am excited about this opportunity given to us as SMMEs and my design company will expand from here onward” said Maria Mashala Masiza, from MMM design.

“We want to build our business and get where we want to be and so far we have met potential clients. We are definitely coming back next year for more,” said Chaim Schneider from Aquazinia Africa.

“It is our first time exhibiting here and we are excited that there are so many SMMEs here for us to create connections with. Our company deals with sport that people are not aware of, which is Airsoft. We hope to attract more clients from today,” said Benjamin Ndaba from Smoking Aces Airsoft.
