Smart Procurement board member to deliver CIPS public lectures across Africa

SmartProcurement editorial member Dr Douglas Boateng will deliver CIPS Africa 2012 Distinguished Supply Chain Management Public Lectures in Western, Eastern and Southern Africa.

“This is the second supply chain management related lecture series on the continent. We are delighted that Dr Boateng shall again be delivering the lectures to various academics, students, practitioners and professionals,” said Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Africa MD Andre Coetzee.

The 2012 SCM Public Lectures will take place in regions including the Southern African Development Community (SADC), Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the East Africa Community (EAC).

The first lecture will kick off in Ghana (ECOWAS region) during September 2012.

The theme for 2012 lecture series is Accelerating Economic Development and Job Creation through Strategic Sourcing.

CIPS Africa will soon announce the dates and venues in each sub region.

Since 2000 Dr Boateng has been publicly acknowledged in Who-is-Who for sector specific contributions to industry. In 2008, he was inducted into the Institute of Directors Southern Africa Hall of Fame for his ongoing contribution to the development of supply chain management profession in Africa.
