The founding chairperson of the West African Institute for Supply Chain Leadership (WAICSL) in Ghana has put his support behind the internationally relevant SmartProcurement World Conference.
"Having participated last year, I encourage a stronger participation from African businesses at this year’s SmartProcurement World. They can only benefit from meeting the broad cross section of purchasing and procurement executives who attend the conference and expo, Dr Douglas Boateng told SmartProcurement.
The conference serves both corporate and government Procurement departments and their personnel in South Africa and will bring together over 30 leading procurement professionals from various sectors who will present their strategies for managing billion-Rand procurement and purchasing expenditures:
Mr Henry Malinga, Director of SCM Policy, National Treasury.
Mr Shaun Scott, CEO of WiL, national logistics providers to the IEC during the 2010 Elections.
Mr Fortune Ntlhoro, Category Group Manager: Support Services & Equipment, Anglo American Corporation.
Mr Etienne le Roux, Chief Economist, Rand Merchant Bank.
Prof. Phoebe Bolton, Faculty of Law, Stellenbosch University.
Mr Howard Stephens, Chief Procurement Officer, Nedbank Group
Ms Nomfezelo Zuma, BEE and Enterprise Development Manager, SABC Procurement Division
Mr Loane Sharpe, Labour Analyst, Adcorp
SmartProcurement World will be held on October 11 & 12, 2011 at Gallagher Convention Centre, Gauteng, South Africa.
Specific sectors represented by participants include agriculture, banking, chemicals, financial services, HR, ICT, logistics, mining, public sector services, technology enablement & support, retail and supply chain consulting.
